Funds will support basic operations of LWV Chicago, including administration, education programs, communications and outreach.

Election Protection programs assist voters leading up to and on Election Day with in-person poll monitors, poll watching, and hotlines staffed by legal volunteers. Our Peacekeeper initiative recruits faith-based leaders, social workers, and counselors to maintain peace between voters and election workers and election disruptors in polling places, a growing concern for the 2026 Midterm Elections. In honor of LWV Chicago board member and civic leader Betty Magness, this scholarship fund covers membership dues for young people ages 16 to 25, ensuring that no young person eager to make a difference is held back by financial barriers. Every dollar contributed to this fund will go directly to supporting youth membership in the League. Help us continue Betty’s legacy by building a stronger, more inclusive League—one that truly reflects the future of Chicago.
